Well, it (WLW) installed without a problem even though it gave me an error message saying it hadn't. And I'm writing this with WLW, so there.
There was only one problem. During setup WLW couldn't set up my blog service. I was asked to enter my blog URL. A lot of searching and grumbling later I figured it out.
To find the URL for a particular blog, view the blog. The URL will be found in the address block of your browser. Highlight and copy that. Then paste that URL where it is needed, but do not overwrite the last two "/"s. Your URS should then appear before the final two / entries.
After that, I was good to go.
